I Was So Lost

In the early stages of grief, I wrote in a notebook:

“I want to actively live.

I want to appreciate being alive.”

I'd already burnt out by then, after years of running too hard
at things that didn't love me back.

And I'd already begun to teach the tools that can help.
I knew, viscerally, what it took to
come back to myself after falling flat on my face.

But that point in my life - wowsers, it brought me to my knees, over and over.

(And no, what I'm offering here is not just about losing a loved one. It's more about losing yourself.)

I went quiet. I went flat.
I lay on the sofa for months, and dreamed about
going back to bed whenever I could.

I went through the motions of getting back to work and parenting and life.

From the outside, I was ‘fine’, coping even.
Inside, I was watching myself from a long way away.

And what brought me back wasn't a course or a book or a coach.
It was breath. It was tiny daily choices.

It was the slow, unsexy work of teaching myself
how to feel alive again - not in big dramatic moments,
but in small, ordinary ones.

That's what this is. And that’s why I know it’ll help you, too.

I'm calling The Morning Activators -
